English: Files containing High Dynamic Range (HDR) image data intended primarily for display on an HDR device. Gain-mapped images contain Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) data as well, for compatibility with a wide range of hardware. They are typically embodied in JPEG files with the gain-map data included as metadata. On Wikimedia Commons, preview images omit the HDR metadata. Thus previews will display in SDR, while the original file uploads will display as HDR.
