Hi Tanbiruzzaman -- I've been working with Colin McDermott, the photographer who took this picture, and who has agreed to license it under a free license.

It was first published on a US National Weather Service website. If you look at the page, it's a page of public submissions. You can even see the instructions for submitting photos for inclusion at the bottom of the page: "Do you have some beautiful and unique pictures of weather that occurred in the National Weather Service's Milwaukee/Sullivan Forecast Area? Would you like to have them included on our Photo Gallery page? Please email your digital photos to the webmaster at: w-mkx.webmaster@noaa.gov" [1]

Colin's photo is the first in the "Tornado" row, as you can see by clicking on it.

Finally, you can see Colin's original video that this still was taken from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RbHX-wwARQ

What else can Colin provide as verification? --Rlandmann (talk) 11:46, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rlandmann, Thanks for clarifying. Can you please ask them to reply with above things you said, so that it can be archived as evidence in permission mail. –TANBIRUZZAMAN (💬) 11:51, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK; I've messaged him to let him know. --Rlandmann (talk) 12:26, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tanbiruzzaman. Would you mind taking a look at the file description for File:Dustin Nicholls aka Astra Zero.jpg? Since you're the VRT member who verified the license, you should be able to see whether it's the uploaders "own work". If it's not, the perhaps the file's description should be changed to reflect the email sent to VRT. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:37, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Marchjuly, There’s Access to Nonpublic Personal Data Policy, so I or we can't do that, It's upto the Copyright Holder. After confirming their permission, I asked them to verify the attribution they desire, but they're free not to care. –TANBIRUZZAMAN (💬) 06:28, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:53, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
