Certificate of Effective Teaching Practice

As a Lumen Circles Fellow, you have an opportunity to receive a Certificate of Effective Teaching Practice from Lumen Learning if you meet the following criteria over the course of your fellowship:

Criteria to Earn a Certificate

  • Complete at least 80% of circle assignments (excluding break week)

  • Submit assignments according to the reflection and feedback timeline

  • Support community interaction and feedback cycles through active participation in all Lumen Circles activities

  • Use reflective practice to examine your teaching and plan to try new ideas to improve student engagement and success

  • Reference evidence-based practices using the “tags” in reflections and fellow feedback

  • Provide thoughtful feedback to peers using the strengths-based Appreciative Inquiry model

Lumen Circles facilitators monitor participation to help determine certificate eligibility. Certificates are delivered electronically after the fellowship is completed. To discuss your progress toward receiving a certificate, check in with your Circle Facilitator.
